C5 SHORT-TERM JOINT STAFF TRAINING EVENT – 02 TO 06 MARCH 2020
BEING INCLUSIVE IN A XXIst CENTURY EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM: THE PORTUGUESE FIELD OF EXPERIENCES
De 02 a 06 de março decorreu no Agrupamento de Escolas Aver-O-Mar o 5º encontro de professores no âmbito do projeto I.D.E.A.! Together We Can – Individual With Disabilities Education Aim, projeto de partilha de boas práticas no que concerne a inclusão de alunos com deficiência.
Este encontro, intitulado “Being Inclusive in the XXIst century Educational System: the portuguese field of experiences”, incluiu atividades na escola, nomeadamente , workshops de trabalho sobre o sistema de ensino português, Decreto-Lei 54/2018, literacia digital e da leitura, com recurso a suportes livro e digital, aplicação de sistema pictográfico de comunicação, Kamishibay Storytelling, Art’lier, com recurso a materiais recicláveis e marítimos, jardinagem, apresentação de um guia de acessibilidade digital da Póvoa de Varzim, exploração do protocolo de Escola de Referência de Educação Rodoviária, entre outros.
Em visita à EB1 de Aldeia, os professores da Eslovénia, Polónia e Turquia, puderem conhecer outro estabelecimento de ensino do agrupamento, respetivos docentes e alunos, a realidade da Educação Pré Escolar e do 1º Ciclo e, por cortesia da Associação de Pais desta Escola, desfrutar de um pequeno lanche.
Para além das escolas do agrupamento, o grupo visitou as instalações do MAPADI na Póvoa de Varzim, CAO em Terroso e Escola Secundária Rocha Peixoto como exemplos de instituições locais que viabilizam o prosseguimento de estudos após o 3º ciclo e a aprendizagem de uma profissão que permita a devida inserção laboral e social do jovem adulto com deficiência.
Ao nível do ensino superior, o grupo assistiu a um seminário proferido pelo Dr. Carlos Cardoso do Gabinete de Inclusão da Universidade do Minho que referiu boas práticas, apoios disponibilizados pela instituição e principais necessidades dos alunos neste nível de ensino, e a apresentação do Projeto Autismo-Robótica no Departamento de Engenharia Eletrónica, UM, em Azurém, pela investigadora Filomena Maria Soares.
Ao longo da semana, e no sentido de promover o conhecimento, multiculturalidade e identidade europeia, conforme previsto no projeto, o grupo realizou breves visitas às cidades de Braga, Guimarães e Porto, onde, para além de ficarem a conhecer um pouco da nossa herança cultural, puderam observar as condições de acessibilidade, ou não, destas cidades.
Com relação à Póvoa de Varzim, realizou uma visita guiada aos principais espaços públicos da cidade, em colaboração com o Museu Municipal de Etnografia e História da Póvoa de Varzim, a fim de perceberem a realidade poveira, história passada e presente, costumes, tradições, e de novo… acessibilidades.
Esta semana foi cuidadosamente preparada ao longo de vários meses, foram realizados trabalhos plásticos de embelezamento da escola, o que envolveu alunos dos vários níveis de ensino do agrupamento, e criados materiais de divulgação de informação sobre os países visitantes, expostos em vários recintos da Escola de Aver-O-Mar.
As cerimónias de receção e despedida contaram com a atuação de diferentes alunos, distribuídos por atuações desportivas, dança, música e dramatização.
Toda a comunicação foi realizada com recurso à língua inglesa, por alunos e professores, contribuindo, assim, para o desenvolvimento desta importante Competência Chave Europeia.
A todos os participantes e colaboradores, alunos, professores, direção da escola, assistente social, psicóloga, assistentes operacionais e administrativos, entidades municipais e outras, queremos deixar um caloroso “Obrigado!”.
Tudo foi possível porque TOGETHER WE CAN!

Like all the
others’ our trip to Portugal started with anxiety, fear, and so many questions.
But it only lasted till our Portuguese colleagues met us at the tram station of
Povoa de Varzim and gave us big warm hugs. So to speak the waves of the ocean
and the rain in Povoa de Varzim swept away all the negative feelings.
From the very the first day of the program our colleagues from Aver-o-Mar were with us all the
time without showing any sign of tiredness and always motivated with a smiling
face. And everywhere well-behaving students even with full of love towards us
just like the cutest Gabriel managing to be friends with us all these adults
coming from different countries.
The preparations
done by the Portuguese team made us speechless. The perfect combination of
learning, experiencing, feeling and orienting. Being welcomed at the Town Hall
with presents, being surrounded by the lovely kindergarteners at Aldeia, almost
crying by seeing what could be done with dedication, good wishes and a full of
heart at MAPADI, experiencing how students can behave very well at Rocha
Peixoto, being inspired by seeing inclusion can be part of the university and the
technology at the University of Minho and of course feeling at home while having
all the activities at Aver-o-Mar.
Portuguese
people, music, cuisine, culture, weather, nature just fascinated me and my team
like no other place has done so far. For myself, I know this was just the
beginning of our relationship…

From 1st to 7th of March we spent a week full of joy, smile and positive emotions in Póvoa de
Varzim with our friends from Erasmus+ Project “I.D.E.A. Together We Can!”.
Portuguese team prepared very professionally a lot of activities, workshops, meetings with wonderful people. This was a week full of inspiration.
We were both at school and spent time walking through Póvoa de Varzim, Braga and Porto. We had the opportunity to try regional dishes, and the food was delicious
Every minute we spent in Portugal was wonderful. We felt your care and hospitality. We met wonderful people with good mood and positive energy. We would like to get back and stay longer.

For the first time I have visited Portugal. For me it is one of those European countries that must be visited.
The trip to Portugal wouldn’t be complete without getting to know the local cuisine and wines of course. I have already tasted some great fish dishes and famous Pastel de Nata. And Vinho Verde, young Portuguese wine that is typically dry, fresh and light. And delicious!
Portugal has impressed me with its beautiful coastline, picturesque houses, historical and cultural richness, coast boasting excellent climate. Portugal is a beach lover’s and surfer’s paradise.
